ABOUT THE ROLE
The Legal Administration Assistant works in close collaboration with the Admin Support Team Leader primarily within the Legal Unit at KLC (“the Unit”) and is responsible for routine administrative and organisational tasks to keep the business activities operating efficiently.
This opportunity would suit someone with demonstrated admin skills and experience or someone starting out in admin who is willing to gain practical on the job experience, while receiving formal qualifications in in Business Administration.
The position operates out of the Broome KLC office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties
- Effective and timely file management including electronic & physical filing in accordance with relevant policies & procedures.
- Provide confidential administrative support via delegation from the Admin Support Team Leader to the Unit including (but not limited to) photocopying, scanning, printing, binding, and other such duties as may be required;
- Assist with the Unit’s incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence and other such duties as required;
- As delegated perform basic account/finance duties per KLC purchasing policy and KLC finance expenditure guidelines;
- Be available to attend and assist at the annual KLC AGM on country, and any other compulsory staff events as may arise;
- Reception cover; and
- Other administrative duties across the organisation as may be required.
- Maintain polite and professional communication in all correspondence.
- Anticipate the needs of others in order to ensure seamless and positive outcomes.
- Maintain a safe workspace and actively contribute to the health and safety of the workplace by adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all KLC policies and procedures and support the team’s adherence.
- Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to the KLC Vision and its Values.
- Other tasks as directed by authorised KLC personnel or representatives.

Essential
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and maintain professionalism & confidentiality at all times.
- Positive verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and presentation.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and work under pressure.
- Ability to be organised, punctual and manage time well.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel etc)
Desirable
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite (particularly excel), databases and accounting programs.
- Previous knowledge/experience working in a legal environment and/or understanding of court processes and systems will be highly regarded.
- Experience in minute taking will also be highly regarded.
