G.A.T.E.WAYS

Canberra

G.A.T.E.WAYS is seeking an enthusiastic registered teacher to take on the role of On-site Supervisor for its popular Eureka and Ignite programs. This role is crucial to the smooth delivery of exceptional learning experiences for advanced primary school children.

This casual role is ideal for educators who enjoy working with high-ability learners, value flexible work opportunities and enjoy working as part of a team. No teaching is required—just strong coordination skills, explicit communication, and a calm, professional presence. It’s ideal for teachers who enjoy being in a school environment but no longer want to be in the classroom.

As a G.A.T.E.WAYS Supervisor, you will:

- Provide on-the-ground support at school-based program days

- Ensure smooth logistical coordination, from student registration to dismissal

- Deliver the welcome briefing and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment

- Liaise with school staff and support G.A.T.E.WAYS presenters throughout the day

- Supervise workshops where a presenter is not a registered teacher to meet compliance requirements

G.A.T.E.WAYS is seeking a person who has:

- Current teacher registration (TQI)

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and manage small teams

- A calm, approachable and professional manner

- Experience working with primary-aged students

- Values student wellbeing

- Ability to travel to a variety of host schools across Canberra

Frequency and Location of Employment

This is an intermittent casual role rather than regular weekly work.

G.A.T.E.WAYS runs programs in Canberra once each school term, with an additional visit during Term 4. During each Canberra program week, the Supervisor is generally required for 3–4 days.

- When: Programs run during school hours. Canberra program dates are scheduled in advance.

- How often: Approximately five program visits across the school year, with 3–4 days of work during each visit.

- Where: Programs are held at a few host schools across Canberra.

While the work is intermittent, it is engaging and rewarding, and the Supervisor plays an important role in ensuring each program runs smoothly for students, families, schools and presenters.

Why Join G.A.T.E.WAYS?

- Be part of a respected educational organisation with more than 30 years of experience providing enrichment opportunities for highly able students.

- Work with a warm, collaborative team of educators and presenters.

- Enjoy meaningful, occasional work without the commitment of a regular weekly role.

- Know your program dates in advance, making it easier to plan around the periods when you will be working.

- Visit a variety of host schools across Canberra and be part of high-quality educational programs for primary-aged students.

- Take on a role where your organisational skills, judgement and experience genuinely contribute to a successful day for students and presenters.
