Hinterland Aviation is a well-established regional airline operating across Northern Australia, supporting a fleet of Cessna Caravan aircraft under an established CASR Part 42 Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO).

Due to continued operational demand and fleet growth, we are seeking a motivated and organised Maintenance Planner to support the planning, coordination, and control of maintenance activities for the C208 fleet.

This role is ideal for someone with aviation maintenance planning, technical records, or maintenance coordination experience who enjoys working in a quick-paced operational environment where aircraft availability, regulatory compliance, and operational practicality must be balanced daily.

The Role

Reporting to the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM), the Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements across the C208 fleet.

The role focuses on maintenance forecasting, utilisation monitoring, workpack coordination, maintenance tracking, and operational scheduling support to ensure aircraft maintenance requirements are effectively planned and controlled in accordance with the Approved Maintenance Program (AMP), regulatory requirements, and company procedures.

This is a planning and coordination role operating within defined processes and organisational procedures. The position does not include independent regulatory approval authority or continuing airworthiness decision-making unless formally delegated.

This role provides exposure to broader CAMO functions including maintenance program management, reliability monitoring, and continuing airworthiness processes.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

· Monitor aircraft hours, cycles, landings, and calendar-based maintenance intervals

· Develop short-, medium-,



and long-term maintenance forecasts

· Schedule maintenance in accordance with AMP requirements, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), modifications, and operational requirements

· Coordinate maintenance inputs with Engineering, Operations, and external maintenance providers

· Identify upcoming maintenance constraints and communicate operational impacts early

Workpack Preparation & Control

· Prepare, issue, and reconcile maintenance workpacks

· Ensure workpacks reference approved and current maintenance data

· Maintain accurate maintenance status within the approved maintenance tracking system

· Monitor maintenance progress and update forecast completion dates as required

Defect & Deferred Maintenance Coordination

· Monitor aircraft defects and deferred maintenance items

· Coordinate defect rectification planning with Engineering and Operations

· Ensure deferred defects remain within approved control procedures and allowable timeframes

· Escalate maintenance issues impacting compliance, aircraft availability, or operational reliability

Maintenance Data & System Management

- Maintain accurate data within the approved maintenance tracking system

- Update utilisation data and maintenance forecasts

- Identify and report system discrepancies or irregularities

Reliability & Regulatory Support

· Provide planning and utilisation data to support aircraft reliability monitoring activities

· Assist with AD, SB, and ICA tracking activities as required





· Support AMP review activities through accurate maintenance forecasting and status reporting

· Assist with audit preparation and maintenance compliance documentation

Operational Coordination

- Liaise with Operations and Engineering on aircraft status and scheduling

- Communicate maintenance downtime and return-to-service expectations

- Adjust schedules in response to operational changes and unscheduled events

About You

Qualifications & Experience

· Experience in aircraft maintenance planning, technical records, or maintenance coordination

· Understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation and approved maintenance data

· Experience using maintenance tracking systems

· Familiarity with CASR Part 42 continuing airworthiness requirements (preferred)

· Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC
