About the role

Yowani Golf Shop is an on-course golf shop at Yowani Country Club in Lyneham ACT, with a full range of golf equipment and accessories from major brands. We are seeking a motivated, honest and reliable Golf Shop Retail Assistant to join our friendly growing team. You will be an enthusiastic team member providing excellent customer service in the day-to-day business of a busy Pro Shop. This position will work on a rostered basis, with candidates being rostered to work some hours over the weekend period during the month. Yowani Golf Shop is open 364 days per year.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional service to members and guests of Yowani Country Club

- Process guest/member check-ins and golf bookings via phone, email, or face to face

- Ensure the Pro Shop is clean and tidy

- General Pro Shop sales and administration, including emails and acceptance of deliveries

- Support other team members to ensure business goals are met

- Develop product knowledge on merchandise, golf balls, clubs, apparel, gloves, and other shop items

- Clean hire equipment, including golf carts, also including putting away at end of day

- Assist in other daily golf shop operations as required

About you

- A friendly personality with a professional attitude, and a passion for exceptional customer service

- Well presented with excellent verbal communication skills





- Experience in retail and/or hospitality

- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and works well in a team environment

- Ability to respond quickly and positively to a range of customer service situations

- A good level of computer literacy

- Basic golf knowledge required (Previous experience working in the golf industry will be highly regarded)

- Must have the availability to work midweek and weekend shifts ranging between 6:00am and 7:30pm

About us

Yowani Country Club in Lyneham ACT has just undergone a major redevelopment resulting in a brand new clubhouse and a redesigned golf course. Yowani Golf Shop is the Pro Shop at the premises that is owned and run by PGA Qualified Paul Finkle. We currently employ three PGA Golf Professionals who work in the Pro Shop but also provide golf coaching and club fitting services.
