We're seeking a passionate and experienced Treatment Facilitator to join our Miinggi Gilinggal Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service in Coffs Harbour.

Miinggi Gilinggal, meaning "Young Heart" in the Gumbaynggirr language, is a residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation service supporting young people aged 13 to 18 years. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help young people build life skills, strengthen wellbeing, reconnect with culture and create positive pathways for the future.

About the Role

As a Treatment Facilitator, you will provide case management, alcohol and other drug counselling, therapeutic interventions and group facilitation to young people participating in residential rehabilitation.

You will support young people throughout their treatment journey by delivering evidence-based interventions, coordinating access to services and creating opportunities for personal growth, recovery and positive change.

Working within a residential setting, you will contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the therapeutic community while helping to maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality engagement, assessment, screening and support services to young people and their families.
- Deliver evidence-based alcohol and other drug counselling and therapeutic interventions.
- Facilitate group programs, psychoeducation sessions and behavioural support interventions.
- Develop and implement individual treatment, recovery and care plans.
- Support young people to build life skills,



emotional regulation and psychosocial wellbeing.
- Deliver harm minimisation and relapse prevention interventions.
- Manage a caseload of young people, including service coordination, referrals and advocacy.
- Support young people to engage in education, vocational training, recreational activities and community participation.
- Assist young people to strengthen connections with culture, community and support networks.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, treatment planning and clinical discussions.
- Maintain accurate client records, documentation and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the safe and effective operation of the residential program.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Human Services discipline.
- Experience working with young people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges, mental health concerns, trauma and/or complex support needs.
- Applied knowledge of contemporary evidence-based alcohol and other drug practice.
- Experience delivering counselling, case management and therapeutic interventions.
- Experience facilitating education programs and group work.
- Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.

Desirable





- Experience working within residential treatment or rehabilitation settings.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant qualified body such as AASW or AHPRA.
- Knowledge of youth justice, community services and support systems.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and communities will be highly regarded.
