The Gaelic Club is a not-for-profit club and bar supporting Irish culture in Sydney. We run traditional music sessions, Céilithe, Gaelic sports, concerts, and community events. We're a welcoming social hub built around good drinks, good music, and positive company.

About the role

We need a part-time Bar Manager to run our bar operations: managing a small casual team, keeping stock under control, and making sure costs stay on budget.

Hours: At 0.4 FTE, you will be working around 16 hours a week, with 2x 30 minute paid lunch breaks. The work hours are:
Friday 9hrs 4pm-1am (our main trading night)• Thursday, 6 hours between 10am–4pm (for deliveries and stock)

The day for deliveries and stock can be open to discussion for the right candidate.

What you'll need
Solid bar experience - opening/closing procedures, stock control and ordering, inventory, cash handling• Ability to set up and follow standard operating procedures,



keeping service standards high• Positive working knowledge of beers, Irish whiskey, spirits, wine, cocktails, and draught systems• Understanding of liquor licensing law, Responsible Service of Alcohol, workplace health and safety, and food safety• A commitment to staying compliant with legislation and Club policy• Strong communication skills, written and verbal• Ability to build positive relationships with members, staff, suppliers, and management• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and special events as needed• A love of Ireland• Two referees, provided with your application

Nice to have (not essential)
Experience in an Irish pub• Cocktail or whisky experience• First Aid certificate• Experience organising live entertainment, sport, or themed events• POS system experience
