Carrington Cottages has an in-house Finance Manager reporting to the CEO and Honorary Treasurer. The Honorary Treasure is the key link to the board providing oversight and guidance on Finances matters as well as contributing to the overall board discussions and governance.

Following are typical of the tasks performed by the Honorary Treasurer.

Monthly: Review the Income and Expenditure Statement and Balance Sheet with Finance Manager.
Using the information provided, write a Monthly Finance Report.

Quarterly: Meet with Finance Manager (and CEO if needed) to discuss any changes to operational activity that impacts the finances and discuss any concerns relating to the numbers. Prepare Quarterly Financial Report and Forecast.

Annually:
Manage the annual budgeting process (with Finance Manager and CEO) and submit to board for approval.
Review with Finance Manager and sign off the end of financial years numbers and present to board as soon as possible (non-audited).
Supervise the collation of financial information required by the Auditors and liaise with Auditors on any queries.
Ensure the Annual Financial Statements are available for the Annual General Meeting held in December of each year.




Load the signed Annual Financial Statements – including the signed auditors report – into the ACNC website

Ad hoc Support will be required from time to time such as;
Provide support and mentoring to Finance Manager when required to continue to develop systems and reporting.
Determine best investment prospects for surplus funds and manage any changes with Banks, CEO and Finance Manager,
Investigate and present financial information requested by the board in support of projects and related activities.

Carrington Cottages holds 8 Board Meeting per year (typically on a Tuesday at 5 PM). Minimally Finance as reviewed in detail each quarter, and short summary statements issued each month.

Expected time required is about 4 hours per week plus board meeting attendance.
