Operating from Jandakot, we are seeking casual experienced Trades Assistants to join our team to support our welders and boilermakers for a period of up to six months, with the possibility of further work or permanent employment after that time. The positions offer a minimum of 38 hours per week with regular overtime available and an immediate start for successful candidates.
The role includes but not limited to:
Grinding and blending different types of welds in various positions
Assist welders and boilermakers with preparing surfaces
Assist in the movement of material sections to relevant processing bays
Operating a range of hand and power tools, drilling machine and overhead cranes
Assist in general tidiness of the workshop and facilities
Assist expeditors in preparing materials for dispatch to paint yards or site
The preferred candidate will have the following attributes:
Previous experience in a structural steel fabrication workplace
High attention to detail and aptitude to carry out a variety of work
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
A positive attitude, willingness to help, organised, punctual and dependable
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work overtime when required
