Job Description
Mechanical Engineer - Workshop / On the Tools (Fluid Handling, Defence)

The client
n Australian-owned, operating for over 50 years. Designs, builds and services specialist fluid handling equipment for critical industries. Workshop on Sydney's North Shore. Small, team-oriented team with room to grow the role as the business grows.

Who we're after
n
This is a complex workshop technician role suited to a mechanical engineer. If you've finished your degree and you enjoy hands-on stripping, rebuilding, testing and commissioning equipment then drop us a line. If you did a trade before or during uni, even better. Over time the role can progress to service engineering, 3D design and project engineering.

The work
n
Roughly 85% workshop, the rest at customer sites across fluid handling, aerospace and maritime.
n
n
Overhauling precision-built fluid handling equipment
n
Servicing and repairing pumps, valves,
pipework and control panels
n
RO plants and fuel filtration systems on aircraft and ships
n
Installs, commissioning, testing and certification
n
Inspection and test documentation to regulated-industry standard
n
n
You'll need
n
n
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or similar. A mechanical trade with a diploma or degree in progress also works
n
Hands-on mechanical experience: assembly, installation, servicing, fault finding
n
Comfortable with engineering drawings and precision measuring equipment
n
Positive with customers, and able to keep service reports, test docs and parts records tidy
n
Fit and healthy, physical role
n
Driver's licence
n
Australian citizen, able to obtain a Defence security clearance
n
