Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a well-established professional services organisation based in Adelaide's CBD to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper for an initial 3-month contract prospect. This role has the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right individual.
Your current role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting the broader business with accurate financial reporting and operational accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include
End-to-end bookkeeping across multiple entities
Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Payroll processing and award interpretation
BAS, IAS and payroll tax preparation
General ledger maintenance and month-end activities
Cash flow monitoring and reporting
Assisting with budgeting and financial reporting
Liaising with external accountants and stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience in a senior bookkeeping position
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements
Experience using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB or similar
Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
