Lead major retirement living and aged care developments from concept to construction

TriCare is one of Queensland's leading owners, developers and operators of retirement living and aged care communities. With a substantial pipeline of major projects, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Design & Development to join our Developments team.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Capital Development, you will manage projects from concept through to construction, coordinating consultant teams, driving project outcomes and ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple development projects through planning, detailed design and approvals.
Manage architects, engineers, planners and other specialist consultants.
Coordinate design development and obtain authority and statutory approvals.
Manage project programmes, budgets and risks.
Drive value engineering and design optimisation initiatives.
Oversee the production of tender documentation.
Provide technical support during tender, construction and into commissioning.
Review consultant deliverables to ensure design quality and buildability.
Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders across the business.

About You

You will have:




A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Property Development or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience delivering major property or construction projects.
Robust consultant management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Sound understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
Excellent commercial, planning and organisational skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Requirement

The successful candidate will have substantial construction delivery experience and a deep understanding of building detailing and buildability.

You will be expected to:
Review and challenge consultant documentation.
Identify coordination and constructability issues early in the design process.
Apply practical site knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Ensure designs are productive, buildable, commercially sound and aligned with operational requirements.
Work confidently with architects, engineers and contractors to resolve complex technical issues
