Portfolio Analyst – Utilities/Energy Sector
Our client, a major player in the energy and utilities sector, is seeking a Portfolio Analyst with strong financial and reporting expertise to support a portfolio of approximately 30 projects across a complex and evolving regulatory landscape.
About the role
This role sits at the intersection of financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, supporting portfolio-level visibility across a large and diverse project base. You'll need the ability to work across multiple concurrent projects at once, drawing on multiple data sources to consolidate reporting and provide clear, accurate insights to support decision-making, including reporting related to Price Review spend.
Key responsibilities
Analyse and report on portfolio performance across approximately 30 concurrent projects
Apply strong financial analysis skills to track spend, budgets, and performance across the portfolio
Consolidate and reconcile data from multiple sources into consistent, high-quality reporting outputs
Support tracking and reporting of price review related spend
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to support portfolio reporting
Manage detailed Excel-based analysis and reporting
Engage confidently with a range of internal stakeholders to gather, validate, and present information
Adapt to a complex and emerging regulatory and operational landscape
About you
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated reporting expertise
Proven ability to manage and prioritise across multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated experience as a Portfolio Analyst or in a similar analytical/reporting role
Solid Power BI skills and advanced Excel capability
Experience working with multiple, disparate data sources
Prior experience in the utilities or energy sector, ideally with exposure to regulatory price review processes
Robust stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
A genuine cultural fit with the client's team and ways of working
