Experienced Dental Assistant - Part Time
Morayfield Dental Studio | Approximately 30 Hours Per Week
Morayfield Dental Studio is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent part-time basis.
This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with regular hours across three main days each week:
Approximately 30 hours per week
Occasional rostered Saturday shifts
Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available
Our team members take turns working Saturdays so the responsibility is shared fairly.
The successful applicant will therefore need to be available for occasional Saturday shifts, with notice provided through the roster.
The Role
As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists and wider clinical team to provide excellent patient care and help each appointment run smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing chairside assistance during a range of dental procedures
Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials and equipment
Supporting dentists throughout examinations and treatments
Communicating warmly and professionally with patients
Helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their appointments
Following infection-control, sterilisation and workplace safety procedures
Cleaning, disinfecting and preparing treatment rooms between patients
Processing, packaging and sterilising instruments
Maintaining accurate sterilisation records and clinical documentation
Monitoring and restocking clinical supplies
Assisting with laboratory work and the preparation of cases when required
Supporting the smooth flow of patients and appointments throughout the day
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Providing reception support when required and appropriately trained
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working as a Dental Assistant
Is confident providing chairside assistance across a range of procedures
Has a solid understanding of infection-control and sterilisation requirements
Is warm, professional and able to help patients feel at ease
Is organised, reliable and has excellent attention to detail
Can remain calm and solutions-focused in a busy clinical environment
Works well independently and as part of a team
Communicates effectively with dentists, patients and other team members
Takes ownership of their responsibilities and follows tasks through to completion
Is comfortable using dental practice software and digital systems
Is available to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, including two later finishes
Is available to participate in the team's occasional Saturday roster
A Certificate III in Dental Assisting is highly regarded.
Experience with digital dentistry, dental radiography, surgical procedures or reception duties would also be beneficial but is not essential.
