Line Operator
Location:Stapylton
Pay Rate: $33 - $35p/h (loading where applicable)
12 hour shifts | Fortnightly roster | Forklift operation
HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced Line Operator to join a fast paced production and packaging environment. This hands on position is responsible for safely operating packaging machinery, monitoring production quality and supporting the effective movement of raw materials and finished products. You will work across 12 hour shifts under a fortnightly roster and contribute to a workplace focused on safety, quality and food manufacturing standards.
Your responsibilities In this role, you will:
Operate production and packaging machinery safely and efficiently
Monitor production lines for jams, equipment faults and packaging issues
Stop, reset and clear machinery when minor malfunctions occur
Escalate equipment, quality and safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor
Adjust machinery settings, operating parameters and production flow as required
Replenish packaging supplies including bottles, cartons, labels, film and other production materials
Inspect finished products and packaging against quality specifications
Identify, isolate and record defective or nonconforming products
Confirm product labels, best before dates, lot numbers and relevant identification codes are correctly applied
Scan finished goods and receipt products into warehouse locations
Count and record completed and rejected packaged items
Operate forklifts to stage materials and move finished products into racking
Complete stocktakes of raw materials when required
Record production efficiency and downtime information through line diagnostic systems
Clean, lubricate and complete minor adjustments to production machinery
Assist with production line changeovers,
maintenance and general upkeep
Maintain a clean, safe and organised production area
Follow HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practice and workplace health and safety requirements
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous hands on experience operating production or packaging machinery
Demonstrated machinery fault finding capability
Experience using PLC controlled equipment
A current forklift licence
A basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice and food safety principles
The physical capacity to undertake manual handling and work 12 hour shifts
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to remain calm and focused in a busy production environment
A reliable and safety focused approach
The ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
Willingness and availability to participate in shift work
Previous experience within bottled water, beverage, food manufacturing or a similar high volume production environment will be highly regarded.
