Recruitment Agency: Aplus Agency, recruiting on behalf of its client Location: St George Area, Sydney NSW Employment Type: Full-Time, Ongoing Hours: 38 hours per week Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation Occupation: Residential Care Officer About the Organisation Aplus Agency is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing NDIS provider delivering high-quality supported accommodation and disability services throughout Sydney.
The organisation currently operates more than 20 residential properties, providing safe and supportive housing to clients with diverse and complex care needs.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join its team in the St George area on a full-time, ongoing basis.
About the Role The Residential Care Officer will provide care, supervision and practical assistance to clients living in supported residential accommodation.
The successful candidate will help clients maintain their safety, independence and quality of life while ensuring that support is delivered in accordance with individual care plans, NDIS requirements and organisational policies.
The position may involve rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepover shifts.
Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care, supervision and support to clients in residential accommodation.
Implement and monitor individual support plans, behavioural support strategies and personal goals.
Assist clients with personal care, daily living activities, household tasks and community participation.
Promote client independence,
dignity, choice, inclusion and personal development.
Observe clients' physical, emotional and behavioural wellbeing and report any changes or concerns.
Support clients in attending appointments, recreational activities and community programs.
Administer medication where authorised and appropriately trained, while maintaining accurate records.
Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies and challenging behaviours.
Maintain comprehensive case notes, progress reports, incident records and other required documentation.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, support coordinators and other service providers.
Ensure residential properties remain secure, clean and supportive environments.
Comply with the NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding requirements, workplace health and safety obligations and organisational policies.
Requirements Applicants must demonstrate: A Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Disability Services, Youth Work, Welfare, Social Care or a closely related field, or substantial relevant industry experience.
At least two years of relevant experience providing residential, disability or community-based care.
Experience supporting clients with complex needs, challenging behaviours or psychosocial disabilities.
Sound knowledge of person-centred care, positive behaviour support and client safeguarding.
Strong written communication and record-keeping skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and crisis-management capabilities.
The successful candidate must hold, or be able to obtain: A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
A current Working with Children Check, where required.
A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
A valid Australian driver's licence.
Any additional screening or mandatory training required for the position.
