We are a privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the Scrap Metal Recycling Industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator and/or Container Forklift Operator who is safety-focused, self-motivated, and customer-service driven. The right person will be flexible, able to prioritise tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day. You must be well-mannered and well-presented. Weekend work may be required on occasion. This is a position we want YOU to take ownership of.

Qualifications and skills

A valid driver's licence and relevant machinery
tickets/certificates
n
Proven experience operating Material Handler, Excavator, and Front End-loader
n
Proven experience operating Container Forklift up to 48t or/and 50t Shear, 22t Excavator, Bobcat.
n
Ability to follow safe operating procedures and comply with company policies
n
Team player with a strong work ethic
n
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Commitment to protected work practices
n
Previous experience in Scrap Metal (Highly favorable)

Responsibilities
n
n
Operate various types of plant and equipment safely and confidently
n
Operate container forklifts to move materials across the yard
n
Load and unload bins, containers, and trucks
n
Check and secure loads appropriately
n
Assist in maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
n
Participate in safety initiatives (e.g., pre-starts, toolbox talks, incident reporting)
n
Outdoor scrap metal recycling yard
n
PPE provided
n
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm (occasional weekends required)
n

Please Note: This is is a casual position that requires full availability from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays as required. There is opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.
n If you do not meet the criteria for the Operator role, but you hold a valid Forklift (LF) licence, you may still be considered for a General Labourer or Trade Assistant position (different rate).
