About the Role

ThisSenior Associate Criminal Lawyer Canberra opportunity offers an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership position within a dynamic and supportive firm.

You will manage a diverse criminal law caseload while alsoleading and mentoring the Canberra Criminal Law team. You will work closely with theNational Practice Director and Practice Leader (Sydney), both accredited specialists.

Key Responsibilities
n
As aSenior Associate Criminal Lawyer, you will:
n

Provide expert legal advice and representation incriminal law matters, including complex cases
n
Manage ahigh-volume criminal law caseloadfrom start to finish
n
Draft high-quality legal documents, includingcharges, defences, and court submissions
n
Represent clients incourt hearings, trials, and mediations
n
Build and maintain robust relationships withclients and stakeholders
n
Support business development andgrowth of the criminal law practice
n
Mentor and supervise junior lawyers anddevelop team capability
n
Assist in developinglegal precedents and internal policies
n
Participate instrategy and executive business meetings
n
Manage team financial performance andachieve billing targets
n

About You
n
To succeed in thisSenior Associate Criminal Lawyer Canberra role, you will have:
n
n
Minimum5+ years' post-admission experience in Criminal Law
n
Robust experience handlingcomplex criminal law matters
n
Specialist Accreditation (highly regarded)
n
Excellent knowledge ofcriminal law procedures and court advocacy
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
Ability to managecompeting priorities and a busy caseload
n
A proactive, client-focused approach
n
Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
n
A genuine interest in transitioning into aleadership role
n
