About the Role
We are seeking experienced Permit Control Officers (PCO) – LV/HV and Authorised Isolators to join a dedicated electrical access team.
This role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of complex LV and HV isolations, including HV switching activities and working within a structured Permit to Work system in a rail environment.
The successful candidates will work as part of a broader, multi-disciplinary delivery team, supporting safe access across multiple work fronts.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and control the Permit to Work (PTW) system across LV and HV electrical works
Plan, develop, and execute switching programs and isolation plans (LV & HV)
Perform duties as an Authorised Isolator, including isolation, locking, tagging, and proving de-energisation
Undertake HV switching operations on AC rail power distribution systems (including HV networks such as 11kV/33kV)
Safely test for dead and prove isolation prior to issuing permits
Interface directly with the Network Control Officer (NCO) and key project stakeholders
Coordinate isolations across multiple concurrent work sites along the rail corridor
Issue, suspend, and cancel permits in accordance with site and rail authority procedures
Maintain accurate records of permits, switching logs, and isolation documentation
