FERHM Heavy Maintenance is seeking an experienced
Accessory Fitter / Mechanical Installer
to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on role working predominantly on
earthmoving equipment, heavy vehicles and mobile plant
, installing and servicing
Lubecore Automatic Grease Systems
, hydraulic accessories and other specialist equipment.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in clean, professional installations, can think mechanically and wants the opportunity to develop into a highly skilled specialist within a growing heavy-equipment business.
About the role
You'll be employed by
FERHM Heavy Maintenance
and work alongside our mechanical, fabrication and field-service team.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Installing
Lubecore Automatic Grease and Lubrication Systems
on earthmoving equipment, trucks and mobile plant
Installing pumps, injectors, metering devices, grease lines, brackets, protection and associated components
Measuring, cutting, routing and adapting materials to achieve neat, professional installations
Manufacturing
CAT hydraulic hose assemblies to OEM specifications
Carrying out servicing, fault finding and repairs on existing automatic lubrication systems
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, installation manuals and specifications
Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment safely and correctly
Inspecting completed installations to ensure they meet FERHM, Lubecore and manufacturer standards
Troubleshooting installation and system issues and developing practical solutions
Preparing machines and vehicles correctly before installation
Maintaining a clean and organised work area and field-service vehicle
Recording work completed, materials used and relevant job information
Communicating professionally with customers, supervisors and other trades
Taking ownership of your jobs from start to finish
The position will involve a combination of




workshop and field-based work throughout South East Queensland
.
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have experience as an:
Accessory Fitter
Automatic Grease System Installer
Mechanical Fitter
Automotive or Heavy Vehicle Accessory Installer
Mechanical Technician
Field Service Technician
Previous experience installing
Automatic Grease Systems on trucks or earthmoving equipment is highly regarded
, particularly systems from Lubecore, Lincoln, Groeneveld, SKF, Graco or similar manufacturers.
We're also looking for:
Robust mechanical aptitude
A minimum of approximately
1–2 years' relevant fitting or installation experience
Pride in producing clean, tidy and professional work
Confidence working around heavy vehicles and earthmoving machinery
Ability to fabricate simple brackets and adapt installations where required
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to read technical drawings and installation instructions
Competence with hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail
Understanding of workshop and field-service safety requirements
Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude
Ability to work independently without being micromanaged
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Physical fitness suitable for hands-on mechanical work
A current
C Class driver's licence
Full legal right to work in Australia
Relevant trade qualifications are an advantage, but
practical experience, mechanical ability and quality of workmanship are equally important to us

As FERHM continues to expand, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and become a key member of our
lubrication systems, hydraulics and specialist installation division

For the right person, there is also the opportunity to undertake
CAT OEM training
and further technical development.
