Lead digital transformation across one of Victoria's most significant health networks
The Royal Women's Hospital (the Women's), Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) are leading Victorian public health services located within the Parkville precinct.
Together, these organisations are supported by the Digital Innovation Service (DI), which provides a unified ICT capability across the Parkville Local Health Service Network. Supporting more than 19,000 staff and managing more than 139,000 support tickets annually, DI plays a critical role in enabling safe, reliable and connected healthcare.
We are seeking an experienced and transformational Portfolio Director – Project Delivery & Transformation to provide strategic and operational leadership across our enterprise-wide digital transformation portfolio.
About The Opportunity
As an Portfolio Director, you will be reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer and accountable to the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer. You will lead the shaping, governance and delivery of a complex portfolio of major digital programs and projects.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced digital transformation professional who can bring together strategy, delivery, governance, change and people leadership to deliver measurable organisational outcomes.
A Regular Day Will See You
Lead the delivery of the organisation's full digital transformation portfolio, ensuring programs are delivered to agreed scope, time, budget and quality.
Provide strategic leadership across major, complex and high-risk digital programs and projects.
Drive contemporary delivery methodologies, including Agile, hybrid and iterative approaches.




Strengthen enterprise-wide project and change management capability.
Develop and oversee investment pipelines, prioritisation, roadmaps and capacity planning.
Ensure digital investments have clear business cases, benefits realisation plans and measurable outcomes.
Provide strategic advice to the CDIO, Executive and Board on delivery risks, opportunities and emerging digital trends.
Build high-performing multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Lead strong relationships with executives, senior leaders, clinical and corporate stakeholders, government partners, vendors and other external organisations.
Oversee portfolio budgets, contracts, procurement, vendor performance and risk.
Ensure digital transformation activities align with relevant financial, cybersecurity, privacy, data protection, regulatory and governance requirements.
About You
You are a senior digital leader with a strong track record of delivering large-scale transformation in complex environments.
You'll Bring With You
Proven leadership experience across large-scale ICT, digital health or similarly complex environments.
A strong record of leading multidisciplinary teams and enterprise-wide digital transformation programs.
Expertise in digital platforms, data governance, research infrastructure and emerging technologies, including AI and automation.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work confidently with executives, Boards, clinical leaders, government and external partners.
Solid commercial, financial and vendor management capability.




High-level strategic thinking, planning and project delivery expertise.
Experience working within complex regulatory, governance and health service environments.
The ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes and successfully lead organisational change.
Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology, Digital Health or a related discipline, or equivalent senior-level professional experience.
