Full Time | 9-day fortnight | 36 hours
From $3,****** per fortnight including allowances + superannuation
Our Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical infrastructure for community facilities, active utility infrastructure, poles, pits and conduits, and other electrical assets.
About the role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter at the City, you will perform minor works and preventative, corrective and unplanned maintenance for operational assets within our water, waste and energy network.
Maintenance activities can include work on water tanks/reservoirs, water pumping stations, wastewater pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and associated mechanical, electrical and controls equipment.
What you'll do
Undertake hands-on repairs and maintenance
Meet deadlines for all works
Assist in the development and training of apprentices
Identify opportunities within planned maintenance to improve plant/equipment life and performance
Participate in the after-hours on-call roster
Work overtime as required
We have multiple vacancies (permanent and fixed-term, full-time)

We're looking for people who have
Certificate III in Fitting, Turning and Machining (Mandatory)
Unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence (Mandatory)
General Construction Induction White Card (Desirable)
Experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a challenging environment
Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work within policies (EEO, WHS) and corporate values
Self-motivation and ability to work with limited supervision
Responsible approach to timekeeping, organisation and quality control
Ability to identify issues in a regulatory environment and recommend solutions
Initiative and sound judgement; ability to contribute to projects
Physical capability to attain/maintain confined spaces certification and relevant machinery licences
Strong organisational skills in a utility-based environment
Proficiency with iPad/computer/email for work purposes
