Full-time, continuing prospect | ***** hours per week.
HEWL 6: $90,821 - $98,369 plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions.
Located in North Queensland - Cairns: Nguma-bada Campus, Smithfield.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
We're looking for a
Digital Spaces Engineer
to help deliver exceptional technology experiences across James Cook University's learning, teaching and collaboration environments. If you're passionate about audio visual, videoconferencing and collaboration technologies and enjoy solving technical challenges, this is your opportunity to support innovative digital spaces that enable staff and students to thrive.
You'll support the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of JCU's digital spaces portfolio, ensuring reliable and fit-for-purpose audio visual and videoconferencing experiences across the University.
Support the performance of JCU's digital and physical spaces through the implementation, configuration and maintenance of audio-visual technologies.
Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex AV and digital spaces issues, delivering high-quality customer service and support.
Contribute to the successful delivery of AV projects through testing, commissioning and implementation activities.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and supporting enhancements to services, processes and technologies.
Assist in the design and enhancement of AV solutions by providing technical input and supporting the development of fit-for-purpose outcomes.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
A degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
Experience supporting, configuring and troubleshooting audio visual, videoconferencing or collaboration technologies in a complex environment.
Knowledge of AV control systems, collaboration platforms and supporting infrastructure.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and prioritise competing demands.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Experience with technologies such as Cisco, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Logitech, Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms will be highly regarded.
