Overview
As an Activity Worker, you take a holistic, person‐centred approach to supporting young people aged ***** who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from family, community, education, training or employment. You deliver services across Cairns/Yarrabah/Mareeba regions, focusing on improving young people's capacity to re‐engage with education, build pathways into training and employment, and enhance their overall health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Knowledge of statutory requirements, the role, organisational programmes, policies and operations.
Sound discipline knowledge with experience, training and education.
Lesser formal qualifications may be acceptable, but substantial years of relevant experience required.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Compliance
Evidence of required qualification.




Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check.
Blue Card (QLD working with children card).
QLD drivers' licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent.
Out of hours may be required from time to time.
Ability (and willingness) to undertake local/regional travel.
First Aid certificate and CPR certificate.
