Annual Salary
from $92,279 to $99,294 per annum plus superannuation
About the Position
The House Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day to day operations of the Residential Care service, whilst proactively providing effective support and therapeutic guidance to Residential Care Workers.
As the House Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Oversee Residential Care Houses and provide leadership, guidance, supervision, and professional support to Residential Care Workers.
Make informed decisions on incidents, operational challenges, and service improvements, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and trauma-responsive, child-focused practice.
Monitor daily house operations, promptly escalating concerns and attending court, police, and other case-related matters as required.
Support 24/7 staff rosters, process time sheets for payroll, and contribute to on-call and emergency shift coverage.
Liaise with referring agencies, stakeholders,



and the Department for Child Protection to support effective service delivery and outcomes for young people.
Manage budgets, petty cash, reporting requirements, documentation, and data entry systems, ensuring accurate and confidential record keeping.
Maintain compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements and support continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and operating manuals.
Coordinate therapeutic care, case management, routines, appointments, and behavioural support for children and young people, promoting safety, wellbeing, healing, and positive development.

About You




To be successful in this role you will have:
A Degree in Social Work or Diploma Counselling or alternate qualifications at a minimum Diploma level as listed Appendix 1 of the Department for Child Protection Minimum Qualification Requirements may be considered.
Knowledge of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act **** and Charter of Rights for Children and Young People.
Knowledge and ability to apply relevant theories and therapeutic practices relating to trauma and attachment for children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse and/or neglect.
Demonstrated ability to support the implementation of therapeutic and approved processes and systems that support staff within their role.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Effective negotiation and communication skills, and ability to manage and respond to challenging and confronting situations and behaviours with flexibility.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and organise workload accordingly.
High level of ability in using Information Technology and Microsoft Office programs.
Requirements of the role
Undergo a Psychological Suitability Assessment *
Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
Hold a current South Australian Driver's License (minimum Provisional License)
