Join a passionate team of scientists making a significant impact on environmental protection! Our Science and Insights team is seeking to appoint a Scientist (Ecotoxicology). This is your chance to apply your expertise to important scientific programs and projects and engage in meaningful work that addresses pressing ecotoxicological issues.
About the role
As a Scientist (Ecotoxicology), you will contribute to the design, delivery and analysis of ecotoxicology projects that inform environmental decision-making and regulation. Working alongside experienced scientists and technical experts, you will support investigations into environmental incidents and research programs, perform ecotoxicity testing, analyse and interpret ecotoxicological data, prepare scientific reports and presentations and collaborate with government agencies, research institutions and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes.
The Ecotoxicology team collaborates closely with the Chemical Forensics team, together forming the Environmental Forensics Unit. The role of the Environmental Forensics Unit is to investigate pollution incidents, provide expert advice, and conduct research to protect the New South Wales community, economy and environment from the risk posed by current and legacy environmental contaminants.

About You
You are a curious and motivated scientist with qualifications and experience in ecotoxicology, including ecotoxicity testing, data analysis and interpretation. You enjoy solving complex environmental problems with scientific rigour and are comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills will enable you to thrive in this role and contribute to protecting the environment for future generations.
Essential Requirements
Scientific qualifications, knowledge and demonstrated experience in ecotoxicology science including ecotoxicity methods, analysis and interpretation.

NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW)
