About the opportunity
As a Senior or Manager with at least 6 years experience, you will work closely with the Senior Partner to service an interesting and successful client base whilst managing junior staff and monitoring their workflow. You will become the first port of call to a select client base that will rely on your advice and judgement on a day-to-day basis.
As we continue to grow, you will take on current clients and integrate them into our practice.
You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to our practice by initiating productivity enhancements through systems improvement and continued training.
And if things go well, we'd love to see you stepping up into a Partnership role, within ***** months. After all, it is not new to us to develop partners from within our ranks.
Located in a Corporate Business Park with under cover parking, you'll enjoy building quality working relationships with our team and clients by:
Developing and implementing tax effective structures that will assist clients to achieve their business and personal goals.




Assist clients to navigate their way through the various regulatory and compliance obligations.
Liaising with key stakeholders to improve the flow of financial information at all levels.
Budgeting and cost control, working with clients to implement Budgets and analyse performance against those budgets.
Assisting clients with business sale and purchase negotiations including the analysis of the tax implications.
Working with clients to ensure the hard work they do in their business is protected and maximised to provide for their families in retirement.
Selecting and nurturing junior staff so that they become an integral part of the DJ Smith Group team.
Other strategic work, including expansion opportunities, risk management and business optimisation.

Here's what you'll need in order to be successful in this role:
The permanent right to work in Australia – we're afraid this is a non-negotiable for this role.
CA/CPA Qualification with a proven track record in Business Services in a well-regarded firm.
A highly organised, attention to detail operator, with robust planning abilities.




The ability to manage a range of clients in diverse industries with turnovers up to $30m and large groups of entities.
An analytical problem solver, with a sound knowledge of tax laws and an ability to think outside the square.
Practical knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and cash-flow.
Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities, with the ability to engage and get the best out of our team, our clients and other key stakeholders.
The ability to quickly learn, appraise and improve current systems. Experience in Xero and XPM would be great to see.
