The Opportunity
We are keen to connect with Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrars and Advanced Trainees interested in full-time training opportunities within a major regional hospital in Queensland.
The Women’s Health service provides broad exposure across obstetrics and gynaecology, including high delivery numbers and a busy surgical workload. Registrars work within a structured roster model supported by experienced FRANZCOG consultants.
This role will appeal to trainees seeking hands-on obstetric experience, operative exposure and strong consultant supervision within a well-established regional service.
The Hospital & Women’s Health Services
This is a substantial regional referral hospital delivering acute, surgical and specialist services to a large coastal and rural catchment.
The Women’s Health service includes:
- High-volume maternity unit
- Special Care Nursery support
- 24/7 obstetric theatre access
- Comprehensive emergency and elective gynaecology
- Integration with Anaesthetics, Paediatrics and ICU
- Regional referral responsibilities
Registrars gain exposure to both routine and higher-acuity obstetric cases across a diverse population.
Training & Development
- Accredited training environment
- Direct consultant supervision
- Operative obstetrics and gynaecological surgical experience
- Exposure to emergency presentations
- Structured teaching and MDT participation
International doctors assessed as partially or substantially comparable by RANZCOG are encouraged to enquire.

The Location
Based in a coastal regional centre in Queensland, the area offers short commute times, warm climate and easy access to beaches and national parks, alongside strong local infrastructure and schooling.
Requirements
- Onshore with limited or general registration with AHPRA.
- UK or IRE Competent Authority Pathway Candidates with at least 2 yrs exp in O&G;
- RANZCOG trainee or Advanced Trainee
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCOG as partially or substantially comparable
