The Role
This role offers broad emergency medicine exposure in a busy regional department with the opportunity to develop increasing clinical independence while working within a well-supported consultant-led team. The department manages a diverse mix of adult and paediatric presentations, including trauma, toxicology, obstetric emergencies and critically unwell patients, providing excellent preparation for advanced emergency medicine practice.
The Hospital
This major regional referral hospital provides comprehensive acute and specialist services to communities across south-west Victoria.

- 212-bed public hospital.
- 24-hour Emergency Department.
- Dedicated 10-bed paediatric unit.
- Broad regional referral role with multidisciplinary specialist support.
Training & Development
Training is a key strength of this position.
- ACEM accredited for 24 months of Emergency Medicine training.
- High presentation-to-trainee ratio, supporting significant procedural experience and progressive responsibility.
- Exposure to adult and paediatric emergency medicine, major trauma, toxicology, retrieval medicine and ultrasound.
- Strong consultant supervision, with more consultants than FACEM trainees and senior support available when required.
- Four hours of protected education each week, including high-fidelity simulation.
- Dedicated primary and Fellowship examination preparation programs.

Requirements
- Eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Appropriate Emergency Medicine experience at Registrar level.
- Working towards, or intending to undertake, ACEM training (where applicable).
