The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major regional referral hospital and are keen to connect with Consultant Geriatricians interested in a substantive specialist role within an established public health service. This opportunity offers broad scope across inpatient geriatrics, older persons assessment, cognitive and functional medicine, orthogeriatric input and multidisciplinary care within a substantial regional referral environment.
The role is well suited to Fellowship-trained Geriatricians seeking a position that combines clinical variety, strong multidisciplinary engagement and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to contemporary older persons care across acute and ambulatory settings. The service profile publicly includes general geriatrics, memory loss, movement disorders and orthogeriatrics, which supports a broad and practical consultant scope.
The Hospital
This is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland and provides a broad range of emergency, surgical, maternity, mental health and specialist outpatient services. The wider health service identifies it as the region’s major referral hospital, with specialty services operating at Clinical Services Capability Framework levels 4 and 5.

- Broad acute and specialist service base
- General geriatrics, memory and movement disorder exposure

This is a strong platform for a Consultant seeking both clinical depth and the ability to influence service development in a regional setting with broad referral responsibility.
