Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | Major Coastal Regional Referral Hospital | Queensland
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major regional referral hospital in Queensland and are keen to connect with FRACS-qualified Orthopaedic Surgeons interested in full-time opportunities within an established and high-demand surgical service.
The department delivers a strong mix of elective orthopaedics and acute trauma across a large and growing coastal catchment. Consultants practise within a structured roster model and contribute to peri-operative governance, trauma management and service development.
This role will appeal to Surgeons seeking operative volume, trauma exposure and long-term professional stability within a substantial regional centre.
The Hospital & Orthopaedic Services
This is a large regional hospital serving as a key referral centre for surrounding rural and coastal communities.
Orthopaedic services include:

- Elective orthopaedic surgery
- Regional trauma and fracture management
- 24/7 acute orthopaedic admissions
- Integration with Emergency Medicine and ICU
- Contemporary operating theatres
- Multidisciplinary peri-operative support

The service supports a busy Emergency Department, creating consistent trauma exposure.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – Orthopaedic Surgery)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RACS as partially or substantially comparable
