Consultant Psychiatrist | Major Cross-Border Regional Health Service | VIC/NSW
The Opportunity
We are working closely with one of the largest regional health services between Sydney and Melbourne and are keen to connect with Consultant Psychiatrists interested in full-time opportunities within a comprehensive and expanding Mental Health service.
The department provides acute inpatient, consultation-liaison and community-based psychiatric care across a large cross-border catchment. Consultants work within structured multidisciplinary teams and contribute to clinical leadership, service development and regional mental health strategy.
This role will appeal to Psychiatrists seeking scale, stability and the opportunity to practise within a substantial regional referral network.
The Hospital & Mental Health Services
This is the principal referral health service for a population of approximately 250,000 people across Victoria and New South Wales.
Mental Health services include:

- Acute inpatient psychiatry
- Community mental health programs
- Consultation-liaison services to the general hospital
- Emergency Department interface
- Regional outreach responsibilities
- Multidisciplinary teams including psychology, social work and specialist nursing

The service is undergoing significant redevelopment, including expansion of Emergency and short-stay facilities, strengthening acute and sub-acute capability.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RANZCP as partially or substantially comparable
