As a Nurse Practitioner - Emergency, you will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced, autonomous and collaborative care across the Emergency Departments of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Drawing on your extensive emergency nursing expertise, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of patients, including the ability to order investigations, prescribe medications and facilitate timely referrals within your scope of practice. As a senior nursing clinician and clinical resource, you will provide expert guidance to colleagues, support education and professional development, and work collaboratively with nursing and medical teams to strengthen models of care. You will also contribute to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, quality improvement, research and the ongoing development of innovative emergency care services-helping shape safer, more responsive and high-quality outcomes for our patients.

is the main referral hospital for the , providing emergency care, medical, surgical, mental health and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on ventilated, high dependency and coronary patients, Children's Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre.
The hospital is currently undergoing a significant $440M redevelopment that will redefine how healthcare is delivered within the Region. Once complete in 2026, the new seven-storey Acute Services Building and refurbishments on the current hospital site will bring a focus on career development.

- Applicable vaccination requirements for a role.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Currently a Registered Nurse with AHPRA the National Registration Board and Authorised as a Nurse Practitioner by the National Registration Board AHPRA
- Post graduate qualifications in emergency nursing and or extensive work experience in Emergency Department/s.
- Tertiary Qualifications at a Master's Degree Level or working towards same.
This is a temporary leave relief position until 9 May 2027 with the possibility of extension.
