Consultant General Surgeon | Coastal Regional Referral Hospital | Queensland
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major regional referral hospital in Queensland and are keen to connect with FRACS-qualified General Surgeons interested in full time opportunities within an established and expanding surgical service.
The department delivers a broad mix of emergency and elective general surgery across a substantial coastal and rural catchment. Consultants practise within a structured roster model and contribute to peri-operative care, surgical governance and service development.
This role will appeal to Surgeons seeking operative volume, professional autonomy and long-term stability within a well-supported regional centre.
The Hospital & Surgical Services
This is a large regional hospital providing comprehensive acute and specialist services to a growing coastal population.
Surgical services include:

- Broad general surgery (elective and emergency)
- Acute surgical admissions
- Endoscopy services
- Close integration with Anaesthetics and ICU
- Modern operating theatre facilities
- Multidisciplinary peri-operative support

The hospital functions as a key referral centre for surrounding regional and rural facilities.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – General Surgery)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RACS as partially or substantially comparable
