About the Role

HarperLloyd Recruitment is working with a highly regarded specialist commercial disputes firm seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 2+ years' PAE to join its growing Sydney office.

The role offers a broad mix of commercial disputes. You will handle matters you can increasingly run yourself while also working on larger, strategically complex litigation alongside experienced senior lawyers.

Your work may include:

- Contract and commercial disputes
- Insolvency litigation
- Shareholder and business separation disputes
- Debt recovery and enforcement
- Voidable transaction proceedings
- Corporate and insolvency advisory
- Mediations and settlement conferences
- Interlocutory applications
- Advocacy and court appearances
- Matters running through to trial across multiple jurisdictions

This is not a role where you will simply sit behind a Partner doing one narrow part of a case. The team wants lawyers who are ready to take ownership, deal directly with clients and develop into confident commercial litigators.





About You

You will ideally have:

- At least 2 years' PAE in commercial litigation
- Strong drafting, procedural and technical skills
- Experience in contract disputes and/or insolvency litigation
- Good commercial judgement
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- A proactive approach to matter management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine desire to progress to Associate, Senior Associate and beyond
