Principal Adviser - Digital Regulation

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced legal and regulatory professional to play a key role in shaping the future of Queensland's digital property and conveyancing environment. Working within a highly regarded regulatory function, you will provide expert legal, regulatory and strategic advice to support major digital transformation initiatives and the ongoing development of electronic conveyancing frameworks.

This is a senior advisory position that will see you working closely with project teams, regulatory specialists and key stakeholders to ensure emerging digital solutions align with legislative requirements, regulatory objectives and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert legal and regulatory advice on digital conveyancing, verification of identity requirements, digital lodgement rules and emerging technologies.
- Support the design and ongoing improvement of regulatory frameworks, policies, standards and guidance materials.
- Assess regulatory implications of new digital instruments and initiatives, ensuring legislative compliance and effective risk management.
- Draft briefing papers, reports and presentations for senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Translate complex legal and regulatory obligations into practical business guidance.




- Identify emerging risks and provide recommendations to strengthen regulatory outcomes and compliance practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of digital transformation initiatives.

To be successful, you will bring:

- At least 5 years' post-admission experience in regulation, compliance, enforcement, legal advisory or a related environment.
- Strong experience interpreting legislation and providing strategic legal advice.
- Demonstrated capability drafting policies, procedures, standards, agreements and guidance materials.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
- Experience working within a regulator, government agency or highly regulated industry will be highly regarded.
