This company is a relatively young yet growing not-for-profit who operate in the Medical Research-related space.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the IT Manager (Systems & AI) you will be first hire in IT, making it a very broad and hands-on role that will evolve and expand over time along with the organisation.

Key elements include the review & uplift of the current IT environment; managing external IT vendors; selecting & implementing recent systems; establishment of cybersecurity frameworks; implementation of ongoing AI governance; as well as end-user support for a small yet growing number of internal staff.

Responsibilities include:

Business Systems and Digital Transformation

- Lead the scoping, sourcing, evaluation, procurement, and implementation of new technology platforms, including CRM and core business applications.
- Business requirements gathering with to understand stakeholder needs then translate into practical deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement through current and emerging technologies.
- Act as the system owner for key IT platforms and applications.

AI & Automation
- Act as the lead and primary advisor on AI governance, capability, implementation, and safe/effective use.
- Design & implement AI enabled workflows that support organisational needs yet remain compliant with internal AI governance frameworks and broader privacy, security, and governance requirements.
- Assist to build and maintain AI solutions.

Cybersecurity, Risk and Compliance
- Establish and implement a cybersecurity framework.
- Support cybersecurity, privacy,



and information governance across the organisation.
- Conduct technology risk assessments and support incident management and continuous improvement.

IT Vendor Management
- Oversee and manage the external MSP and other IT vendors ensure effective and continuous service delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technology operations, security, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Assist with software licensing, contract renewals, vendor selection, and implementation partner management.

Digital Systems Administration & End User Support
- End user IT support, including desktop hardware/software (Windows, Microsoft 365, macOS); meeting room / VC support etc
- Monitor system performance and coordinate support/issue resolution with external providers.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Suitable for a hands-on IT Lead / IT Manager with digital transformation, CRM, AI, and cybersecurity experience who thrives in smaller yet high-performance environments.

Being in a stand-alone role, it's suited to an energetic hands-on "doer" who enjoys wearing multiple hats and is happy to do what's needed to get the job done. Someone hands-off running and directing large teams to deliver won't be suitable.

Ideal for someone who's excited about joining a growing organisation that makes a meaningful impact on people's lives.

Required skills / knowledge / experience:

- Proven experience managing & optimising digital systems and technology platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OS, and Microsoft 365.
- Comfortable & capable of providing IT support to a small number of end users.
- Experience sourcing, implementing,



and managing business systems, including CRM and other enterprise platforms.
- Practical expertise in AI tools and workflow automation.
- Sound understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, and information governance.
- Experience successfully managing technology vendors, managed service providers, and implementation partners.
- Proven experience engaging with business stakeholders to understand their problems, then develop innovative ways to solve them through IT.

Full-time permanent role offering circa $150,000 - $170,000 (plus super) + NFP salary packaging benefits - depending on experience.
