About the role:
- Run major disputes: Work on complex, high-value construction disputes across NSW courts and tribunals, arbitration and Security of Payment adjudications.
- Get into the detail: Advise on claims involving delay, cost, quality, contractual risk and issues arising throughout project delivery.
- Be involved before disputes escalate: Support clients during procurement and construction, helping manage live claims and resolve issues as projects progress.
- Broaden your construction expertise: Build experience across advisory work and project documentation alongside a robust disputes-focused practice.
- Step up your responsibility: Work directly with experienced Partners on significant matters while also mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and paralegals.
The ideal candidate:
- Must be 5 - 8 years post admission experience as a lawyer.
- Construction disputes experience gained within a well-regarded construction practice.
- Experience across NSW courts and tribunals, with exposure to Security of Payment adjudications.
- Strong drafting, written and verbal communication skills, with sound commercial judgement.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and the ability to thrive in a busy, collaborative environment.
- A genuine interest in construction law and a willingness to share knowledge and mentor more junior team members.
