Consultant Geriatrician | Regional Coastal Hospital | Mid North Coast NSW
The Opportunity
We are working closely with an established Geriatric Medicine service within a regional coastal hospital in New South Wales and are keen to connect with FRACP Geriatricians interested in a full-time role offering continuity of care, multidisciplinary integration and solid community impact.
The service supports a growing ageing population and operates across acute geriatric consults, subacute care and rehabilitation-linked models. The role offers meaningful involvement in orthogeriatrics, discharge planning and system coordination across hospital and community services.
This position will appeal to Geriatricians seeking a collaborative regional practice with manageable scale and strong referral support.
The Hospital
This is a well-established regional hospital of approximately 150 beds serving the Mid North Coast community.
The Geriatric Medicine service includes:
- Acute geriatric consult service
- Subacute and rehabilitation integration
- Orthogeriatrics collaboration
- Strong Emergency Department interface
- Multidisciplinary team environment
- Links to larger referral centres within the NSW network
The hospital maintains established referral pathways to tertiary centres while delivering comprehensive regional care locally.
For interstate or international applicants, the RACP assessment and registration pathway can be clearly structured to ensure clarity and progression alignment.
The Location
Located on the Mid North Coast of NSW, the area offers beaches, rivers and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. The region provides strong schooling options, affordable housing and short commute times, making it well suited to family life and long-term settlement.
Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Geriatric Medicine
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RACP as partially or substantially comparable
