Consultant General Surgeon | Major Cross-Border Regional Health Service | VIC/NSW
The Opportunity
We are working closely with one of the largest regional health services between Sydney and Melbourne and are keen to connect with FRACS-qualified General Surgeons interested in full-time opportunities within a substantial and expanding surgical service.
The department delivers a broad mix of elective and emergency general surgery across a large cross-border catchment. Consultants practise within a structured roster model and contribute to peri-operative governance, teaching and service development.
This role will appeal to Surgeons seeking operative scale, clinical breadth and long-term qualified stability within a major regional referral network.
The Hospital & Surgical Services
This is the principal referral health service for a population of approximately 250,000 across Victoria and New South Wales.
Surgical services include:

- Broad general surgery (elective and emergency)
- 24/7 acute surgical admissions
- Endoscopy services
- Integration with Anaesthetics, ICU and critical care
- Regional trauma centre responsibilities
- Modern theatre facilities

The service is undergoing a significant $600M redevelopment, including expansion of Emergency and short-stay units, strengthening surgical and acute care capability.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – General Surgery)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RACS as partially or substantially comparable
