Consultant Palliative Care Physician | Major Regional Tertiary Health Service | Victoria
The Opportunity
We are working closely with one of Australia’s largest regional health services and are keen to connect with Palliative Care Physicians interested in full-time opportunities within a comprehensive and well-supported service.
The department delivers specialist inpatient and community-based palliative care across a large regional catchment. Consultants work within a multidisciplinary model alongside Oncology, General Medicine and community services, contributing to holistic patient-centred care.
This role will appeal to Physicians seeking meaningful clinical impact, structured service support and long-term professional stability within a substantial regional centre.
The Hospital & Service
This is a major regional health service with over 600 beds providing secondary and tertiary-level care across a wide catchment.
The palliative care service includes:

- Dedicated inpatient palliative care beds
- Hospital consultation service
- Community-based palliative programs
- Integration with Oncology and Haematology
- Multidisciplinary team support (nursing, allied health, psychosocial services)
- Strong governance and service development framework

The hospital maintains an active teaching role and supports both undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Palliative Medicine)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by RACP as partially or substantially comparable
