NSW Transport Supervisor - Fuel Distribution
South Sydney
Our client is a leading transport and logistics provider delivering fuel distribution services on behalf of one of Australia's major fuel brands. They're looking for a hands-on Fuels Supervisor to lead a large driver network across a 24/7/365 operation.
About the Role
Sitting alongside the scheduling and operations team, you'll take day-to-day responsibility for a rotating pool of around 30 on-road drivers (within an 80-driver network), covering rostered day and night shifts across the week. You'll be the key link between the driver cohort, the 24-hour support team, and the client's scheduling function - keeping trucks on the road, shifts covered, and service levels on track.
This is a fast-paced, people-first supervisory role. You'll be managing rosters, troubleshooting on-the-day issues, and building trust and consistency with a driver group who expect a supervisor who's fair, present, and easy to deal with.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising and rostering a large pool of company-employed drivers across rotating day/night shifts
- Acting as the frontline point of contact for driver queries, roster changes, and on-the-day operational issues
- Working closely with the 24-hour support team and client scheduling team to keep the network running smoothly
- Managing performance and IR-style conversations with professionalism and consistency
- Supporting peak-period planning (school holidays, Easter, long weekends) when demand on the flexible fleet pool increases
- Building strong, credible relationships with a long-serving, well-paid driver cohort
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience supervising a large fleet of company drivers (not owner-drivers/contractors) in a 24/7 rostered environment
- Confidence navigating IR conversations and holding the line with an experienced, unionised workforce
- A steady, fair, and consistent leadership style - this driver group responds to supervisors who show up and follow through
- Based within a reasonable commute of South Sydney
- Fuel or dangerous goods experience is a bonus but not essential - full training provided
What's on Offer
- A genuinely diverse, high-impact operational role with real autonomy
- The chance to make your mark leading a critical, high-visibility contract
