Prestart Consultant | Residential Construction

Join an established residential builder as a Prestart Consultant, working closely with homeowners to guide selections and bring their vision to life.

You'll work across a range of homes, from volume and single-storey through to double-storey, luxury and bespoke builds, with opportunities for career growth and progression.

Key Responsibilites

- Conduct professional and engaging prestart consultations with homeowners.
- Guide clients through their selections and assist them in making confident and informed decisions.
- Advise clients across colours, flooring, tiles, cabinetry, benchtops, tapware, sanitaryware, electrical, lighting, fixtures, fittings and other finishes.
- Work within the builder's standard inclusions, specifications, product ranges and upgrade options.
- Discuss upgrades, additional selections and associated costs with clients.
- Provide design and product advice while considering budget, functionality and buildability.
- Review plans, specifications and documentation to ensure selections are appropriate for each home.
- Ensure client selections and variations are correctly documented and communicated to internal teams.
- Liaise with drafting, estimating, contracts, construction and administration teams.
- Work with suppliers regarding products, pricing, availability, lead times and specifications.

About You

To be considered for these positions,



you must have previous experience working directly within a residential home builder.

We are looking for candidates with:

- Previous employment experience within a residential building company.
- Previous experience as a Prestart Consultant, Selections Consultant, Design Consultant or similar residential construction role.
- Hands-on experience conducting prestart and selections appointments with homeowners.
- Experience working across residential homes, including volume, single-storey, double-storey, luxury or bespoke builds.
- Strong knowledge of residential building materials, finishes, fixtures, fittings and suppliers.
- Experience working with building plans, specifications and residential construction documentation.
- Experience managing client selections, variations and changes.
- A strong understanding of the residential construction and pre-construction process.
- The ability to confidently guide clients and provide skilled design and product advice.
- The ability to manage multiple clients, projects and deadlines.
- The ability to work collaboratively with drafting, estimating, contracts, construction and administration teams.
