Consultant Intensivist | Major Tertiary Referral Hospital | Queensland
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a major tertiary teaching hospital in Queensland and are keen to connect with FCICM-qualified Intensivists interested in full-time opportunities within a high-acuity and well-established Intensive Care Unit.
The ICU supports a large metropolitan and regional catchment and manages complex medical, surgical and trauma cases. Consultants contribute to critical care delivery, supervision of trainees and ongoing service development within a mature and structured department.
This role will appeal to Intensivists seeking scale, complexity and recognised training involvement within a leading regional tertiary centre.
The ICU & Hospital
This is a large tertiary referral hospital serving northern Queensland and surrounding regions.
The Intensive Care Unit provides:

- Mixed medical–surgical ICU capability
- High-acuity trauma management
- Advanced ventilatory and organ support
- Close integration with Cardiology and Neurosciences
- Strong peri-operative and emergency interface
- Retrieval and regional stabilisation support

The unit is CICM accredited for:
- General Training (Gen24)
- Neuro
- Cardio
- Trauma

The Emergency Department sees over 80,000 presentations annually, supporting a significant critical care workload.
Consultants work within a well-resourced, consultant-led model with established trainee supervision structures.

Requirements

- Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM)
- Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
- International Medical Graduates assessed by CICM as partially or substantially comparable
