Your new role:
As a Senior Speech Pathologist at Logan Hospital, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based Speech Pathology services across a diverse range of acute inpatient settings, including ICU, ED, MAPU, stroke, cancer care, and medical and surgical wards. Working as part of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will use your advanced clinical judgement to manage complex presentations, provide expert advice and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
You will also play an important role in developing our Speech Pathology service, supporting the growth of less experienced clinicians and students, and contributing to education, quality improvement and research initiatives.
- Provide senior clinical assessment, intervention and management for complex acute presentations.
- Provide expert clinical advice to Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary team members.
- Support effective discharge planning, clinical handover and continuity of care.
- Supervise and support HP3 clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants.
About you:
You are an experienced Speech Pathologist who thrives in a complex acute environment and is confident managing a varied workload across multiple clinical areas. You bring strong clinical reasoning, communication and leadership skills, along with a commitment to evidence-based practice and improving patient outcomes.
- Strong clinical reasoning and independent decision-making for complex cases.
- Excellent workload management, prioritisation and discharge planning skills.
- The ability to provide expert clinical advice within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience supporting clinicians and students to develop their skills.
