About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist Level 3 within the Medical Assessment Unit, you will provide advanced occupational therapy services to patients presenting with complex clinical needs. Working as part of a fast-paced multidisciplinary team, you will use your extensive clinical expertise and advanced professional judgement to assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions that support safe and timely patient outcomes.

This senior role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate occupational therapy services, provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. You will work with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues to ensure patient-centred care is delivered to the highest standard.

About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in complex healthcare settings. You bring advanced clinical reasoning skills and the confidence to make sound decisions in challenging situations, while maintaining a compassionate and collaborative approach to care.

Your strong communication, consultation and negotiation skills enable you to build effective relationships with patients,



families and multidisciplinary team members. You are highly organised, able to prioritise competing demands, coordinate care effectively, and provide guidance and support to other therapists and allied health assistants. Most importantly, you are a natural leader who enjoys mentoring others, driving best practice, and contributing to positive patient and team outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia), be eligible for registration, and possess a current NSW driver's licence.

What you'll be doing
Provide and co-ordinate appropriate occupational therapy services for inpatients, outpatients and community clients as referred in a manner consistent with professional code of ethics and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. Contribute to service development by identifying, leading and evaluating quality improvement projects and providing professional oversight to junior staff.
