Southern Grampians Shire Council is currently recruiting Seasonal Casual Lifeguards to join our team for the upcoming outdoor pool season.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience, work within your local community and be part of providing safe and enjoyable aquatic facilities for residents and visitors across the Shire.
We are looking for lifeguards to work at our five outdoor pools:
- Balmoral
- Coleraine
- Dunkeld
- Hamilton
- Penshurst
We are seeking applications from either qualified lifeguards, or those who are willing to obtain the required qualifications prior to commencing employment. Assistance can be provided to help you gain the relevant qualifications, with reimbursement of training costs available where applicable and subject to the conditions of the outdoor season.
As an Outdoor Lifeguard, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our pools are safe, welcoming and enjoyable for the community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising pool areas and ensuring the safety of patrons
- Providing first aid and rescue services when required
- Maintaining a clean, safe and enjoyable pool environment
- Providing advice and assistance to pool patrons
- Educating the community on water safety and preventing drowning and injury
- Representing Council in a positive and professional manner
You’ll also have the opportunity to work alongside a supportive team and gain valuable experience in aquatic operations, customer service, safety and community engagement.
