VATEE Markets is an Australian financial services firm based in Canberra, providing financial markets and trading services to wholesale clients.

Our business operates within a broader international financial services group, with operations across multiple jurisdictions. We work closely with regulators, financial institutions, legal and accounting professionals, technology providers and other financial services partners.

As our Australian and international operations continue to grow, we are looking to expand our compliance and corporate affairs team in Canberra.

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Compliance & Corporate Affairs Associate to join our Canberra office.

This is an excellent chance for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is interested in developing a career in financial services, compliance, regulation and corporate affairs.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will assist with a broad range of compliance and corporate matters across our Australian and international operations. The role provides hands-on exposure to financial services regulation, corporate governance, AML/KYC, client onboarding, banking and regulatory communications.

This is a junior position and we do not expect candidates to already have experience in every area. Training and ongoing guidance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the ongoing compliance and regulatory obligations of our Australian financial services business

- Assist with regulatory correspondence, reporting and submissions

- Maintain compliance records and registers, including complaints, incidents, breaches and conflicts





- Assist with AML/KYC reviews and wholesale client onboarding

- Coordinate with regulators, external legal counsel, accountants, auditors and other professional advisers

- Assist with corporate governance, regulatory filings and ongoing corporate maintenance

- Support banking, payment provider and other financial institution onboarding and periodic KYC reviews

- Liaise with international corporate service providers and assist with matters relating to our overseas operations

- Monitor regulatory and corporate deadlines and follow up on outstanding matters

- Maintain well-organised corporate, compliance and regulatory documentation

- Provide general compliance, corporate and administrative support to the Managing Director

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with an academic background in Law, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline. A legal background will be highly regarded.

You will ideally have:

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Strong organisational and time-management skills

- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- A professional and responsible approach to confidential information

- Confidence communicating with external professionals and organisations

- A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work

- An interest in financial markets, financial services regulation or corporate affairs

Previous experience in financial services, compliance, legal practice, banking, accounting or corporate administration would be advantageous, but is not essential.
