The Corporate Affairs Specialist role supports the bank’s responsible banking positioning through the delivery external and internal communications activity. The role is accountable for supporting the implementation of external and internal communications strategies for operational business changes, major projects and initiatives, and customer communications. This will include developing communications content for use across external and internal communications channels.
The role is also responsible for supporting short- and medium-term projects that contribute to the bank’s thought leadership position and strengthening the brand.

What you will be doing
- Develop and deliver engaging content across a range of channels, including website, social media, customer communications, internal communications, video and presentations.
- Support the development and implementation of internal and external communication plans that promote Bank Australia’s purpose, strategy, projects, partnerships and business initiatives.
- Create and coordinate content that showcases the bank’s impact focus areas, impact lending activities and responsible banking position.
- Support media, community and advocacy activities that enhance the bank’s brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of key internal and external events, including employee town halls and the Annual General Meeting.
- Conduct research and analyse communications performance, identifying insights and opportunities to improve engagement and communication outcomes.
- Monitor media and social media channels, supporting issue and reputation management activities and maintaining relevant communications registers.
- Contribute to corporate reporting, stakeholder engagement and priority Corporate Affairs initiatives, providing support across the Corporate Affairs team as required.
What you will bring
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong content development and storytelling capability across written, video, visual and social media formats.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate communications, content creation, social media, community engagement or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct research, interpret insights and identify opportunities to enhance communications outcomes.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate across teams.
- Understanding of corporate communications, reputation management and issues management within a business environment.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes to deadline.
- Experience using content management systems, social media management platforms and basic creative tools, alongside relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, highly regarded.
- Demonstrated interest in social and environmental issues, with a solid alignment to purpose‑led organisations.
