We are seeking Senior Teacher’s Inclusive Education to provide specialist leadership, coaching and advice that helps schools create learning environments where every student can thrive.
This is an exciting opportunity is based within the corporate Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services (SWIPS) team, and the role is to influence educational outcomes at both a school and system level while working alongside multidisciplinary professionals dedicated to improving inclusion, engagement and learning across the Territory.
About the Role
As the Senior Teacher Inclusive Education, you will work within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework to build the capability of educators and school leaders across the Northern Territory to deliver inclusive educational programs for students with disability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coaching and mentoring teachers and education professionals to strengthen inclusive teaching practices.
- Supporting complex student cases through evidence-based recommendations and strategies.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to deliver coordinated support for students and families.
- Designing and delivering professional learning and training programs.
- Promoting best-practice approaches in inclusive education, intervention and student support.
- Contributing to service delivery improvements and high-quality educational outcomes across the Northern Territory.
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you will bring:
- Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory.
- A recognised postgraduate qualification in Special Education or Inclusive Education.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with disability through evidence-based inclusive education practices.
- Solid leadership, mentoring and coaching capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience delivering professional learning and facilitating training.
- Contemporary knowledge of special education, inclusion and intervention programs.

Several positions available. Corporate-based conditions apply to this position, including 6 weeks of recreation leave each year.
Life in the Northern Territory
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse communities and make a genuine difference where it matters most. Travel to remote schools may be required, including occasional overnight stays, four-wheel drive travel, with training provided and light aircraft travel.
Applicants must:
- Hold a current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current NT Driver Licence.
- Be willing to undertake regional and remote travel as required.
