Fire Systems Technician – RAAF Richmond
Downer is seeking a Fire Systems Technician to work in the permanent workforce at RAAF Richmond. The role involves ensuring the functionality and reliability of fire protection systems across key defence bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to corrective maintenance work orders and unplanned fire system faults within contract-specified response times.
- Conduct root cause analysis and diagnosis using manuals, standards, and asset history.
- Perform rectification works including repairs or replacements of faulty fire system components.
- Implement make‑safe or temporary repairs when required and escalates major component replacement.
- Verify and test corrective maintenance works, ensuring compliance with standards and Defence policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate III in Fire Systems Testing and Inspection.
- Fire Protection Accreditation (FPAA), QBCC Fire Protection Licence (QLD), or FPAS Accreditation (NSW).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory).
- Post-trade experience in fire systems fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis, fault finding, and compliance testing to restore fire systems to operational condition.
- Experience responding to unplanned or reactive work orders within required response times.
